In Chengdu, Sichuan’s provincial capital, there is another Giant Panda research centre at the Chengdu Panda Breeding Research Center located about 10 km from downtown. It is a major and continually developing project that includes a research center, a Giant Panda Museum and other exhibition facilities in conjunction with the Chengdu Zoo. It is being developed as a major tourist attraction.
